Sorry, mailuj1. I wrong clicked in the negative icon instead of the positive one. I totally agree with you.

  2. 9.02 - Pele’s …
9.02 - Pele’s pass. I never saw Maradona produce a pass like this in any game he played .

  3. I don’t quite agree …
I don’t quite agree with you, I’m afraid. Although Italy vs West Germany was a thrilling match, quality wise England vs Brazil was THE ONE AND ONLY real clash at Mexico’70. Two great football nations facing each other on a very high
level of tactics and skills. UNIQUE!

  4. Great match and …
Great match and locution. Both great squads & Rarities.Congratulações!

  5. i think this was …
i think this was the best england team ever unfortunately they had to face the best brazil team ever (or one of the best)

still a game we should never have lost !

  9. Hugh Johns - he …
Hugh Johns - he always reminds me of Stuart Hall. I expect to collapse into hysterical laughter each time one of the players falls over !
He wasn’t too good at getting the players’ names right, either. Whereas David Colman’s commentary on this match for the BBC is completely accurate. Plus he makes the telling comment: “You can’t win matches if you miss open goals !”

  12. GREAT page! The …
GREAT page! The only mistake is to compare Pele and the drug user called Maradona. They’re in 2 distant and different levels. Pele is unique! What did he do to be named in a same sentence with Pele?!?! NOTHING! There MANY OTHERS better than him, such as Garrincha, Zidane, and Vava

  13. Really ? Well, I …
Really ? Well, I think long hair had become fashionable by 1970 (even on Bobbie Charlton !). Anyway, many of this squad were relative newcomers. I’d never even heard of Tommy Wright or Terry Cooper until I saw this recording.

  14. God how they …
God how they changed after 4 years. I only recognised Bobby Moore.

  15. Someone put the …
Someone put the Brazil vs Perù game. That is the Game with Most Technical Skill Ever!

  16. Great game! I saw …
Great game! I saw an interview by Carlos Alberto a few months ago where he said that was as close as you could imagine. He is right. It could have gone either way. Pele, Jairzinho, Tosato, Rivelino, Banks,Charlton, Moore some of the greatest ever! (Gerson, the player Sir. Ramsey feared the most did not play). The English Team was actually better than the one which won WC66. Had Banks played against Germany in the QF, this classic would have been repeated in the final!

  17. Pele scored 8 goals …
Pele scored 8 goals against Botafogo of Ribeirao Preto - if I recall right, that was in 1964 or 1965. This is not the same Botafogo of Rio de Janeiro, which was Garrincha´s team.
